🔬 Exploring Research

📎 Clip-On Bluetooth Mic Badge

A small BT mic clipped to scrubs — tap to record, just like a walkie-talkie. Cheaper than a smartwatch, purpose-built for the job. Could be a branded "ShiftWhisper Badge."

  • ~$15-30 hardware cost
  • Clips to scrubs or lanyard
  • Single-button operation
  • Pairs with phone in pocket

Tech: BLE button trigger + phone handles all processing. Could partner with existing badge makers.

📲 iPhone Lock Screen Live Activity

Persistent widget on your lock screen showing current patient, last note time, and a tap-to-record button. No need to unlock or open the app.

  • Always visible on lock screen
  • One-tap to start recording
  • Shows shift timer + patient count
  • Dynamic Island support on iPhone 14 Pro+

Tech: ActivityKit, Live Activities API (iOS 16.1+)

🏥 Vocera / Nurse Call Integration

Some hospitals use Vocera badges or Cisco nurse call systems. Potential future integration to capture notes through existing hospital communication devices.

Tech: Would require enterprise partnerships. Long-term vision.
